Job Description:
Ajilon Communications is currently seeking a part-time
Telecommunications Technician to perform installation and repair
functions in the Calgary and surrounding areas on behalf of our client,
one of Canada’s largest providers of communications services.
This is a long-term, part-time opportunity; we require an individual who
is available to work approx. 2-3 Saturdays per month.

Main Responsibilities:
Install, diagnose, and repair basic inside voice and DSL equipment (e.g.
installing inside wire from the demarcation point into the customer’s
premises)
Provide excellent customer service – answer customer queries/provide
information regarding issue(s), status, applicable charges, etc.
Administrative functions – track and submit status of job; accurately
record and submit time and expense reports
Maintain work vehicle, tools and equipment
Qualifications:

Recent experience in
telephony (installation and repair) is preferred; we would be willing to
consider training for an individual with similar experience and/or
education

Legally entitled to work
in Canada (Canadian citizen, landed immigrant)

Must be available to
work 2-3 Saturdays per month, during “daytime” business hours

Must possess a valid
driver’s license with clean driving record; learner’s permits are not
acceptable

Strong
communication/comprehension/listening skills

Computer literate; must
have access to a PC and email, and it is preferred that you have a
cellphone or pager

Able to use hand/power
tools and testing equipment

Able to handle all
physical aspects of position – bending, standing, climbing, lifting

Must possess normal
colour vision (due to the use of colour-coded wires)

Strong interpersonal
skills - must be able to resolve unpleasant customer issues in a
professional and diplomatic manner

Able to work with little
or no direct supervision

Able to effectively
handle stress
-
Possessing own work
truck and tools would be considered an asset
